An independent read on UK betting sites
We started BritBetBoard because most betting comparisons read like adverts. Ours are meant to read like a colleague who has actually used the sites telling you what they think.
What we do
We pick a selection of UK-facing sportsbooks, work through each one using the same set of checks, and publish honest write-ups and editorial scores. The aim is simple: let you compare sites on the things that matter — markets, odds presentation, mobile, payments, terms and safer-gambling tools — without wading through marketing language to get there.
We don't try to cover every operator in the country. A smaller, considered list that we can actually review properly is more useful than a directory nobody reads to the end.
How the comparison works
Each brand goes through the same checklist in the same order, so a score on one review means the same as a score on another. We note the strong points and the weak ones, because a review that only lists positives isn't a review. Where a site is thin — a narrow outright market, a fiddly in-play screen — we say so.
Our scores are editorial opinions for comparison. They are not official ratings, and they are never a prediction of winnings or value. You can read the full method on our Editorial Review Policy and How We Compare pages.
How affiliate funding works
The site is free to read, and it is funded by affiliate commission. Some of the links to operators are affiliate links. If you click one, visit the betting site and open an account, we may receive a commission from that operator. You pay nothing extra, and the odds or offers you see are exactly the same as if you had gone there directly.
The part that matters: commercial arrangements do not buy a better score or a softer review. Funding keeps the lights on; it does not write the verdict. There is more detail on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Our position, plainly
Anything to do with your actual bet — placing it, funding it, the odds, the settlement, your account — happens on the operator's own site, under their terms and their UK licence, not ours. We are the editorial layer in front of them, and we think keeping that line clear is part of doing this responsibly.
